Helen Freedman,
the Executive Director of Americans For A Safe Israel / AFSI, wrote a note on February 17,
2011 that I'd like to share part of here.
Dear AFSI friends,
It is hard to believe that it is almost a month since we lost our dear friend
and Chairman, Herb Zweibon (Chaim ben Moshe) zl. His death on Tu B'Shevat,
January 19, 2011 has left his family, our organization, and all Herb’s friends
and associates in Israel and America, with an emptiness which can never be
filled. His great contributions over the forty years during which he steered
AFSI through very rough waters are immeasurable, and continue to reverberate to
this very day.
In honor of the shloshim or thirty days
since his death, I know there are many who would like to remember him through
some positive action. For those who are so inclined, the study of Torah in memory
of the departed is considered a special privilege.
An additional option is to make a
contribution to the Herbert Zweibon Memorial Fund which AFSI has established.
We hope that through this fund we can perpetuate the principles of Zeev Jabotinsky
and Shmuel Katz which were so dear to Herb.
If you choose to participate in the
Memorial Fund, please mail a check to the AFSI office at:
