The Board, officers and members of CIPAC, the Christians' Israel Public Action Campaign, have expressed their unequivocal support of Israel in the present war against the Hamas terrorist group in Gaza and other terrorists and their supporters.
CIPAC urges all Americans to go to our website, www.cipaconline.org, to email, call or fax the President, the President-Elect, their two Senators and their U.S. Representative in the present Congress (and their replacements in the incoming 111th Congress, if the elections produced changes). We urge you to send the strong message that we expect each of these American leaders to support Israel fully in its actions to stop the horrific rocket, missile, mortar and other attacks that have killed, wounded and imperiled Israelis, including Jews, Moslems and Christians, for years now without any appreciable relief
We are thankful that President George W. Bush has expressed American support for Israel. Nonetheless it was unfortunate that US representatives at the United Nations agreed to a United Nations Security Council press release calling for an immediate ceasefire, a development that likely would preclude further Israeli defensive actions. The UN Security Council may in all likelihood meet in the near future to consider the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Please urge our elected leaders to insist that the President refuse to agree to any UN demand for an immediate ceasefire or other action that would prejudice Israel's right and obligation to defend its people from the critical threats emanating from Gaza or beyond. No one deplores war and longs for peace more than do the Israelis, but Israel must have complete relief from the threat of missiles and mortar shells from Gaza. Please send your messages to the President, President-Elect and congress from our website at once while there is time.
CIPAC, the registered Christian advocacy group (lobby) for Israel that turns 20 years old in 2009, and MERCL, the Middle East Research Center, Ltd., the
501(c) (3) not-for-profit think tank supporting CIPAC that soon will be 25, are developing comprehensive plans to enlist a significant percentage of the more than 130 million Americans who believe God gave Israel to the Jewish People to urge their elected officials in Washington to support Israel today and in the months ahead. This will include solidarity missions to Israel and other direct support, but the principal battleground for American Christians, Jews and other pro-Israel activists must be in Congress, in the White House and especially in the new Administration.
We welcome your participation in this campaign by CIPAC membership or renewal, or by tax-deductible contribution to MERCL. See www.cipaconline.org for details or to contribute.
Many thanks for your continuing support and participation and have a Happy New Year in spite of all the continuing troubles. With His help we shall overcome!
